Ooh That's A Bit Icy
I recently managed to get my hands on a uniquie jet RIB. It was the Parker 630 with the CMD 1,7 DIESEL WITH THE MERCURY JET drive. Only problem ???
well a temprature of -6 degrees. ;-(
I had to get the help of the Polish Vessel Tucan to tow me through the ice out of the harbour and then i was free to have a bash out at see.
The boat was incredibly dry and performed well around 28 knots, not bad for a jet and a deep "V" ;-) I took the R.I.B. out of Gdynia along the coast down to Gdanśk, however feeling my face slowly start to freeze up I decided i'd better call it a day and returned back.
It's a superb boat for beeching i didn't actually try it but i was planning at full speed only about 1 to 1,5 metres from the beech probably 35 cm deep? Not something you want to do for long periods, but had to try you couldn't get away with that on a stern drive. Here vare some pic's
