The following are a selection of images comprising of some of my personal favourites, a few humorous ones and a few random ones that may be of interest. Some of you may have seen some of the pics before (I have posted quite a few of them already) but I thought I would collate them all into this “photo essay” for everyone to browse through as and when they please.
Most of these images portray, I hope, what our great hobby/sport/whatever is all about.
This is ribbing, a way of life…which includes not only tearing around in your boat burning fuel, but meeting new people, exploring new places, pushing your personal limits, pushing the limits of your equipment, learning new skills, earning money, spending (lots) of money, making the most of the world around you and getting hammered in a local pub with people you only met an hour ago! For me, when I’m out on the water, I feel on top of the world and a 40kt+ blast down the solent has got to be the best hangover cure known to man!
We are so lucky to live in a place with such a diverse and beautiful coastline and being a ribber means we can explore and enjoy it better than most. Let me put it like this: WE HAVE THE BIGGEST PLAYGROUND ON THE WHOLE PLANET!!!!
So, when things don’t go to plan and your rib is a little sick (Hightower and Ollyit, I’m sure you can relate to this!), just remember its worth the effort!
Now thats enough ranting, on to the pics, hope you like em.
