Pontoons at Gigha

Took a run over last month to see how progress was going on the new pontoons.
They hope to build a 100ft. finger out on right hand side of main jetty.

Yep that's right R and the re-developed the old jetty to make it more secure to take the new facilities safely. It will be a great boon for the island save anchoring and pumping up sib

Nice one! Do you remember what the depth was like at the tip?

It's a cracking spot to call into, but no fun approaching the old "pier" end.

I did make a slight docking error by tying up to the bollard in the photo - except they hadn't bolted it down yet

Very little tide rise there - but I had about 5/6ft. I would imagine it will be deepened for the keel boaters.

...I should visit soon!

Generally, after I've been somewhere a few times, the hardware gets bolted down.
