Ah got it, these bungs were fitted in Portugal by the moulders, what’s the ID of the hole?

Ribshop, Don't worry I purchased a couple of the expanding bungs to tide me over for a couple of weeks until I get a chance to fit a new unit.
Have had a lot of fun with her in Torbay over the weekend and was well impressed with the way she handled.
I have some pictures to post, whih I will try and do tomorrow.

Hi Ribshop,
Reading through the threads on the site therewas some mention of Cavitation issues on the 2 Ribs. Do you know what caused it and if it was fixed.
Can't say I have noticed any issues, however it would be good to know for the future.
Thanks
Keith

There were some cavitation issues at the start but with some prop changing it was all sorted out.

Has taken me some time, but I have sorted out the cavitation issues I had with Prime 2.
I put a CMC jack plate on the back and installed a Michigan Wheel Ballistic s/s 24" pitch prop. Took her out today and oly experienced some cavitation in tight port turns, which given it as a tad lumpy was a great result.
I can lower the engine on the jack plate by about an inch without any fear of fouling my steering gear. Having the jack plate on the back has setback by engine by 5 1/2" which has the prop spining in cleaner water....that made a big difference even before changing the prop.
I could not see what size pitch prop was on her before as the markings had worn away, but with the mods above we saw 37Knts without be at WOT on a lumpy sea.
just need to wait for a better sea to see what she can do at WOT.

Would you mind posting a photo of the driving position? You have the same Outhill console that we have on the Wahoos. Our wheels are on the front vertical surface on there, which isn't a great position when you're stood up. I see yours are mounted on the top, how is that for driving?

Hi, Driving position is spot on and is very comfortable.
I am out on her tomorrow, so will get some photos for you.
Cheers

Interesting. Ours are identical in layout other than the wheel being on the same surface as the VHF. I think that's where Outhill has in mind for the steering wheel but in reality its a few inches too low.

If memory serves correctly, the throttle positions on your two Wahoos are also different - one was designed around the other Tim, who is large, and one was designed around Adam W who is short! If they were adjusting throttle positions etc, it is highly likely that they will have given conscious thought to the steering wheel position, and possibly decided it was better on the other surface?
A lot of Gemini ribs have a steering wheel mounted as per the Prime Rib above - makes driving them a bit like driving an old van...

Correct: The one on top is less comfortable to use than the one on the vertical surface, although it's very easy to knock (very easy to push fly by wire throttle with no neutral lock) when moving around.

If I was going to mount the steering as is the photo above I'd have bought the adjustable helm option you can get on Sea Star pumps. Would be much more flexible.
