It wasn't that rough today......
Wind with tide over the Winner Bank, It gets worse when it's wind against of course.

Yeah beautiful shots. Is that East Head, the exotic weekend long distance destination of the CYC Cruising Section?

Yup it is the very luvverly East head (or the East Indies as I tell my kids!)
Always worth a trip there Olly. Even on poo weather days it can be a pleasant trip.
Phil....I was stood on the shoreline for that one...doh...you knew that already.

Hi Robin,
Which Winner Buoy is that.
West - North West or North.
Just trying to work out exactly where those waves are.
Cheers. Nick R.

Quite agree on the location. It is a fine place to go summer or winter.
Big shame its on the wrong side of the rocks for us LA types or we'd probably get there more often!

Hi Nick
It's the Northernmost one of the set of straboard marks that line the western edge of the Winner bank in the entrance to Chichester Harbour....directly opposite Hayling Island sailing Club.

Mid Winner then.
I was just going to say that.
The waves must be over the very popular summertime bottom scrubbing bank where all the Gin Palaces park.
The Nab Tower is nice and clear in pic 2. Hard to believe it is over 7nm miles away.

If some enterprising navigation instructor stuck a sign out there, he would do a roaring trade. Perhaps a low tide navigation workshop would work.

Nick...the waves were the up-splurge...the down-splurge revealed the shingle bank, you can hear the shingle grinding sometimes.
You are right....it would provide a momentary rush of adrenaline, that special "bring my brown corduroy trousers" kind of adrenaline, just before your boat hits the bottom. Arf
I was a good zoom lens length away.
Jackeens....cheers me dears
