Copied from Redbay's website:
This RIB is powered by a 315hp Yanmar diesel engine which is centrally mounted within the console, through a ZF gearbox, which spins a carbon fibre driveshaft which was supplied by Centa, to a Hamilton HJ241 Waterjet unit. This package gives a top speed of 35 knots.
The design spec from the Port of London was to have the engine mounted in the centre of the boat as to maximise available deck space and keep the crew positioned towards the stern of the boat. The console/engine lid hinges to the starboard side enabling excellent access to all parts of the engine. A deck hatch between the crew seats provides access to the carbon drive shaft. The waterjet unit is accessed through a Lewmar hatch which allows servicing and removal if necessary.
Crew comfort is provided through four Scot KPM Suspension jockey seats.
There is a large area on the bow deck for carrying a pallet, as well as a watertight Freeman deck hatch providing underdeck storage. The deck level is high enough to allow self-draining through two scuppers on the transom.
A high transom prevents any chance of backwash, and a heavy duty stainless steel A-frame carries Lopo LED navigation lights, as well as flare boxes and life rings. A jet protection bar on the transom will also carry the liferaft.
Twin underdeck stainless steel fuel tanks have a total capacity of 450 litres.
The engine has a 24 Volt system and this RIB is fitted with both 12 and 24 Volt electrical systems.
The tubes are mechanically fitted which allows them to be easily removed.
