what a bunch of tossers. i hope they don't get paid for that kinda shite effort.
if you are going to use that prehistoric method of launching then put more people on the ropes and take a turn or two around the bollard.
No Qr on the hook either

Don't worry. It's always worth watching again!
If you think that was bad, how wrong do you reckon they'll get it with their new toy? I so hope they'll still have the TV crews with them!

I've changed the link to a different version of the same. It won't play embedded, but click the link and you can see it on YouTube.

I now view my own amateurish attempts at ribbery in a different light.

RIB Launch gone wrong
Luckily no one was hurt, I think this is a culmination of errors with ultimatley the captain to blame.
I have never seen a RIB launched this way whilst steaming (and at some speed by the looks of it), is this a regular thing, is this something the oil industry does regularly?
They got away lightly with just an icy dip and I suspect minimum damage to the RIB.
I have seen these guys in action against long line fishermen and whalers and I applaud what they do but, this can only be negative publicity for them.

They were lucky that no one was sliced apart when that hoisting cable snapped...
