Ribbing to Paris - The Gallery
1/ Passing under the Pont du Tancarville near Le Havre
2/ La Frette getting a cheeky free ride off my wake, Erin estimates a 20% fuel saving by doing this, hence why he spent most of the next 200km sat there
3/ Rouen - a major sea port and very commercialised.
4/ Pont Jean D'Arc in Rouen, the centre span lifts for big ships but this doesn't happen often, it's all river barges upstream of this point.
5/ The upstream side of Rouen from whence my plotter became fairly useless.

1/ Wouldn't be my 1st choice when naming a boat
2/ Approaching I'le le Croix in Rouen
3/ There's plenty of crap floating about in the Seine, we all took a few hits on the keel or gearbox, one of my props will need a clean up.
4/ There's plenty to look at on the banks, helps pass the time.
5/ French ingenuity at it's finest

1/ Approaching the 1st lock, Amfreville...
2/ ...and back out the other side
3/ A lot of the barges had cars on the roof, as well as jetski's and other toys. They appear to be used as the family home, complete with wife and kids.
4/ Ok, not quite 10kts but nobody said anything

1 - Matt doing his Kate Winslet impression
2 - The return journey leaving Paris
3 - Gets a bit choppy in the estuary at times (one of the few occasion she was actually at the wheel)
4 - All too much for Matt. Somehow managed to fall asleep on La Frette on the way back to Jersey in a F3/4

Great pics, many thanks.
If this would be possible with my Ribcraft 4.8 and 65 hp?
Cheers

Definitely. The only problem may be stowage space for all the clothing and equipment you would need.

Looks a Great trip! Not bad fuel economy either. Just over the 1.1L mark. Must be chuffed with that I'd have thought. Presumably lucky with cruising weather.

Just grabbed the track for the return journey from my plotter. Don't have the first bit between Paris and Port de L'Ilon though.
