I was so impressed with the clothing on the Prorainer stand that I bought a new set of waterproofs. Here's Howard and Carol on their stand

This is the console of the Arctic Blue RIB. It's a single engined craft... can you guess what the third control lever is for?

Sorta close, but no cigar!
I believe that the third lever is for the transom mounted mounted quick-release kedge anchor
(Apologies if I've got the wrong lever photographed - JK knows the details as he looked when the sun was out, but it was raining when I looked and there were no staff to ask)
Here's the anchor...

I thought that the best throttle arrangement was on the Bananashark - you can use EITHER the foot or the hand throttle

And our survey said EH ERR . . .
You're wrong and the prawn is right. It controls the bow ballast tank.
As far as I could see, the kedge anchor was controlled from with inthe engine box.

That's a relief then.... I was worried about the anchor release being next to the throttle!
(oops!)

Great idea though - instant brakes!!! Will have to rig something up for my Land Rover - will feel a lot safer in the Atlas Mountains if I can just drop an anchor as I go over the edge!!!

That's quite common nowadays, my phantom has a dual system (twin motors, and a choice of foot or hand throttle control), as do most of Mark Pascoes boats.
it's available from 'in-control' (USA)

Two different design concepts
Bananashark (with Josh in the back) and a view of dual Pascoes in all their glory

Just wanted to thank everyone that came to see us and the boats at Ribex, and for all of the great comments on here and the other threads. If anyone would like to know more, feel free to call me on 07836 268747 - we will be at Ramsgate this weekend, and at all of the other National races this year with both boats - if we don't sell it of course!

I forgot to mention my quote of the day at RIBEX. Waiting for the RedJet back to Southampton (now that's a proper boat ) there were a couple of teenage girls standing behind me.
They were looking at the RIBEX poster on the wall, and one turned to the other, pointing at a picture of a certain character lounging around on a RIB, and said adoringly "Oooooh, look! That's Cookee!"
