Mrs Raptor is never off my case. Mrs Miss Isle thinks I'm way too lippy and cheeky and if you dis the dog. Big trouble! Neil pushed Matt into the water in Balfours Bay. And Tony locked Matt in his car for 2 hours for fun. And that's before we get on to politics and the 6 nations. We barely get on at all !!!

That is exactly what I meant GeoffW.

If everyone did not all get on so well together ..it could easily turn into fist’i’cuffs with a few well placed Glasgow kisses thrown in for luck.

Now that Im home from another week in Oban ..(this time with the small sedate SIB brigade).. I have found time to put the video for day two together. I hope to finish the box set with day three in the next day or so ... do come back if you enjoy the series.

Day Two .. a RIB Race up the Sound of Mull ..

My thanks again to everyone involved in the adventure.

Best Regards

Thanks again Chris and it truly was fantastic

The third and final day of this box set is now attached. We went for a perfect picnic in paradise. The three days in Oban with the fast Rib guys n gals now seems just like a dream to me ..or was it really real ?

The following week I covered some of the same ground with the SIB guys that I also meet up with once a year. There are some interesting contrasts between the RIB and the SIB journeys.. so do look back in a few days to see how the SIBs get on trying to find paradise.

Thanks for watching..and again..thanks to everyone on the adventure..it was a fantastic three days.

Thanks Maximus, Tony T and Neil .. although I dont want to wish my life away..I cant wait until the next time we meet.. I wish you all many other great adventures until then too

Although this is Day One of a new Three Part Box Set … it is a kind of follow on from the last videos “RIBing around Oban”. Its a nice comparison of doing much the same journey as the Large Fast Ribs ..but this time in small slower boats.

In the small boats we have to be more aware of the weather and tides and obviously take much longer to get there ... but in return we get closer to the shore, see more close up detail, and can land anywhere.

It is a very different kind of sea adventure although we are going to the same place and in boats. However it is very enjoyable all the same .. and it costs next to nothing.

I hope its of interest too and will post day Two in a day or so time.

Thanks for watching
Best Regards

Looking forward to watching them! I should think VisitScotland owes you a bob or two by now!?!

Much admire your spirit of adventure - wishing you fair tides and calm seas.

Many thanks for your kind words Dr Hook.

I guess at 64 years old Im hardier than most. Only myself and Gordon .. my regular boating companion .. survived the full three days of this adventure.. the wet weather wore the West Coast Boat guys out but I realise many folks prefer the comforts of home. Everyone is different in that respect.

Day two was very wet but drysuits are wonderful things for these kind of days. Excuse the occasional rain smudge on the camera lens ..it was very difficult conditions to film in. We still enjoyed a grey trip through the Iona Rock Garden and then another evening wild camping in Loch Buie.

Weather was poor but it was still a great day to be on the water.

Day Three will follow in a day or two.. thanks for watching
Best regards

This is the last day video of Small Boats in Oban box Set ... and is the final video from my year so far around the Oban area.

Two very different types of adventures are on this thread.

One in bigger fast boats and one in smaller slow boats. I really enjoyed both adventures very much .. even although a totally different type of boating. I wouldn’t like to say which I preferred as both were fantastic.

However what is very clear in my mind is … for me .. it is the company that makes the adventures so special .. not the boats. That may surprise those who know I like my own company on adventures too .. which is true ..but then it is a different type of adventure yet again

My thanks again to the Guys and Gals of the Fast Boats and also to the Guys of West Coast Boats ... I look forward to meeting everyone again. Have a great season until then.

Thanks also to those of you who watch the videos.

Im off again next week..where to ?

As a clue .. a very good friend gave me a present of 20 litres of fuel. My self imposed challenge is to get maximum value from it in terms of scenery as well as distance travelled. Keep an eye on my You Tube channel or on the forum to find out on my return.

Thanks again for watching

Best Regards
The Gurnard
