Odd you should ask, yer Bollixness, but apparently yes. I think the plan involves a removable section. I was more interested in the hull though...

I don't think she belongs to anyone on here (?) but Kevin from hotribs.com had borrowed her, with another guy (who I think might post on here). Kevin ended up the wetest person on saturday - but that had nothing to do with the hull design!

The boat was called Maverick - here is the build thread: http://rib.net/forum/showthread.php?...light=maverick

Ardbeg
Nobody "bought" Ardbeg she's still a demo boat, Kevin from Hotribs.com was test driving her for an article.
(Sorry to JK for mentioning the competition - please don't kill me!)
I was on board with Kevin. I felt that she handled well, and we certainly enjoyed the bit of protection from the wrap-around screen. The hull took on the rough stuff admirably, with the added weight of the cabin helping to keep the bow down. In the shorter chop, we did experience a bit of "slap", but it was nothing too horrendous. When we had the opportunity to try some tighter turns, she stuck to the water very well, with no hint of sliding, though this did require some playing with the trim, as you'd expect.
If anyone saw Ardbeg in the Suzuki pool at LBS, she has a 250hp on the back. I'd like to try her with 300, just to give the extra bit of punch. If you want a more porfessional review, wait to hear from Kevin on Hotribs.
Tim

I had the chance to drive it on sunday and was very impressed with the handling and protection from the weather. Fit out needs a bit more attention though. Not happy with only one battery and the access to it was poor. Also needs a ladder, lifelines and some D eyes on the transom.
As Tim says, it needs a bit more more power than the single 250.

I didn't take many photos, but here are a few pictures taken in a sheltered spot where it was safe to get my camera out.
The weather was truly vile, and we didn't do a whole lot of boating, but I still had a good weekend despite everything. Many thanks to DM and GED for all the legwork organising things and helping with the launching and recovery, and thanks to the Harbour Master and his staff for making it so easy for us.
From what I could see through the horizontal rain and breaking surf it looks like a great cruising area. It would be good to come back in the summer sometime!

Apologies for some of the quality, trying to keep the camera still was not easy.
JSP wanted to put names and faces to boats so I've done my best! PM me any corrections!
Thanks to all involved, especially Ged and Dave for organising, and Kevin from Hotribs for the ride.

Someone at Portdinorwic had some good pictures on a fancy camera (I think he had been on a Scorpion). Sports boat and Rib might be interested in them for an article they are planning. Can anyone PM me with contact details for the photographer?
