Round Anglsey
Me and my mate Christian went for a spin round Anglesey today from Port Dinllaen.
A few pics leaving Portdinllaen visiting at Mike at Portdinllaen Lifeboat before we left the bay.

Weather was good apart from a good 5 / 6 on the north of the Island for a while.
The plan was for IOM and Port Patrick this week, but forecast not great.
Looks like june now for Scotland as planning to get to st kilda.

Hi Jono, The weather looks brill following the weekend hoolie for the ribnet gathering .
The big Avon Rib tied up at Porth Amlwch in your picture belongs to "ynysrib" a member on here. I beleve it made sea safari trips out from the old Moelfre lifeboat station untill the end of last season.
Out of interest Its up for sale here http://rib.net/forum/showthread.php?t=30127
I Launch at Treath Bychan 90% of the time, but at weekends and holidays it often gets bombed out.
Great pics of the Island

Well I hope you enjoy the run to PP. If you are going up to St Kilda you no doubt will go up the Sound of Jura where i do most of my ribbing and other members are up here like Alystra and Bruce B to name but two and I am sure we would all be up for a rendevous if we can coord the cruise.
It would be nice to spend some time.

fuel
Hi Jono, very jealous you get to go out whenever it is nice.
Out of curiosity, how much fuel to get round the island at cruising speed? (how many miles also if you know)
If at highish tide, other than the straits and caernarfon bar, is there anywhere else that is a problem to navigate. Is it relatively easy to get round Holyhead using the GPS?

Don't rely on the gps, buy a Admiralty Tough Book for Anglesey. We did Caerarfon Bar at low water (1.3 on CD). You will be ok if its not rough, if its rough you'll need advice on the fangs, stacks, lynas, skerries as there is ways around the rough stuff but you have to be close to the rocks.
