Thanks, Andy.
I've done a video too!

It's 13MB so I'd recommend right-clicking and "Save Target As..."

What a day - stunning pics and the video is great - that ketch called Solana is lovely - would love something like that - they look so graceful.
How do the Yachties react to a hooligan in a RIB??? My local yacht club would only let me join when I mentioned the word "diving" apparently they don't see a RIB as fit for anything else!!!

Superb photos!!! That must have been amazing to see that in person. How many yachts are in that race? Looks like their should be enough to retrieve Helen of Troy!

Thanks for the comments
It's an amazing spectacle and honestly the pictures don't do it justice. 1,700 yachts according to the official website http://www.roundtheisland.org.uk/
Viewing the back of the fleet from up the Solent is an amazing sight... like sharks teeth on the horizon, then once you're amongst the yachts it's wall-to-wall sailcloth!

Know what you mean about looking like sharks teeth on the horizon...took these photos precisely because we thought the same although having resized them, the yatchts on the horizon may not be very visible...I'll give it a go anyway!! Did see a few ribs out and about...we are a blue 4.8m RIBCRAFT..."Marlin Monroe"...maybe we saw you!

Excellent vid Richard - and nice to see you on the Sunday in Yarmouth.
There was an amazing site going east through the race when they were all coming back to cowes with Spinakers up.
Took a couple of pictures earlier in the day, the first one actually has a guy at the top of the mast, must have had a good view!

Tell them to stick that one right up the chufty!!
How many sailing events use RIBS for safety cover, mark laying etc etc.
Sailing clubs would not exist if RIBsters didn't give time and effort free of charge!!

Here are a few of the hundreds I took on Saturday.
1. Cool multi hull
2. Pindar
3. News flash: Wave spotted off the Needles. Shock.
5. The first accross the line.
Cheers.
Ian
