Scillie Pictures

Hi GC,

Nice pictures, Who is standing on the bouy? Who is Toby?

The Pic of Mike & Di's MA was that after it had been fixed?

Really nice shots.

AY

Toby.Budd is your man, funnily enough he is selling a Humber 6.3 Ocean Pro very similar to mine, in the ribs for sale section.

He will have to answer your questions I'm afraid.

Ignorance is bliss, and I am the happiest person I know.

Toby is kinda busy earning a crust these days and seldom posts, so all these pics are rather out of date.

Kevin AY, the pics were shot on 7/8 June and I bust Mag A on the ill-fated trip to Spain on 24 June. The boat's fine now.

The bloke on the buoy is Toby's mate, name not known, but a nice helpful lad. When we needed to get ashore as a group but could not leave a RIB alongside, he delivered us all before motoring out to deeper water to drop an anchor. He then swam ashore in his dry suit. Good move.

The pic was taken on the cardinal, close by Bishop's Rock lighthouse. We had motored out there but it was getting too rough for the smaller RIBs so we turned back. Toby and pal went on so that they could get that snap.

Richard, it's the same fella in the water with the fins. They are a school of basking sharks that Toby encountered on the way out to the Scillies. Our intrepid swimmer couldn't resist the temptation to go and play with them....

And there's a couple of pictures of Panther heading out towards Bishop's Rock lighthouse - In one of them all you can see is the A-Frame, the rest of the boat is in a trough!!

On board is myself and Jim - a member of the Pride of Bristol crew who thought I was giving him a quick lift to the shore, but instead got the ride of his life!!!
"I've never seen a cardinal bouy from below" he said at one point!!

It was hard work going, but as soon as we turned we were surfing with the waves - excellent fun!!

RIBase
In the first of Marks photos, (sailing boat in the background) Manos may be surprised to note that even some Greeks "in the know" actually bring their boats to the UK and the Scilly Isles to holiday.
Maybe Greek waters are not all they are cracked up to be after all?

Or even

Capture scenes like this...
Because you see we can SWIM in our waters. Instead in the UK waters you can't even FIND fish. (Don't dare to say see them due to the polution).
