New tourist attraction at Southend Pier!

As the guys moored up a gentleman in uniform turned up and asked what was happening. He turned out to be the piermaster and couldn't have been a more helpful, friendly or interested chap!

Alternative transport

Bored with the progress of his Searider in the chop, Bilge Rat elects to hitch a lift back to Kent with someone even more insane than him....

Parting of ways

Essex and Kent crews compare notes, resolve to do it all again another day and blast off in opposite directions to their respective home ports

The nut job on the jet ski was a friend called pete who decided to join us, after nearly dieing of exposure due to the fact all he had on under that dry suit was a pair of shorts (nutter) he and his support rib (the 6metre zodiac) headed back to Queensbourgh to de freeze and from there straight back to Herne Bay as they were attending a black adder theme party at whitstable yacht club that evening, we met up with them back at the slipway and he did look a bit cold.
