Searider Gathering 20/9/2008
I hope a good day was had by all, a bit of a shame the group broke up.
The three larger(?) ribs went to as planned to the South side, a bit of chop, especially on the return. Apologies for holding back Chris and Mat a little, I was reluctant to open it up to much with a 73year old on board! Still at 26kts she was still smiling ... Must try harder to get that inheritance!
A couple of photos by those on board manged to grab
Regards
Steve

I think today was Summer!
Had a great time today guys and Girls.
Launched a little later than planned so sorry if people had to wait for us. It was deemed that the Sea conditions where a little to hard going for the smallest of our fleet so a change of venue from Ventnor (over the back of the Island) to the Folly Inn just up stream of Cowes. Several of the larger RIB's wanted to stretch their legs and continued on to Ventnor and on to circumnavigate around the back of the Island. I decided that a trip to the Folly was fine for us, so decided to stay with the Smaller craft.
Had a good run over to Cowes and after one of out fleet was told off for apparently speeding (he was only doing 6 knotts guv), we arrived at the folly.
Parked up the RIBs in the RIB park (a bouy just North of the pontoon) and went ashore to feast and drink.
Everone seemed to slip away in dribs and drabs after Lunch, so we decided to go it alone down to the Needles to find a few bigger waves
On the way back home, made contact with Time Bandit who must have passed us possibly with him being in Yarmouth at the time of passing.
Made it back home for 18:00 and have just finished off a nice plate of Cod, Cod's roe and chips
Sorry about my pics, the camera crew weren't up to much due to hanging on

A Meeting at Membury, Some Baloons (Not surely in honour of our gathering?) - and on the water near Camber Dock

Couple more on the Medina - the 'Rib Park' created for us at the Folly - and a shot of heading home. A great day - must make sure we do it again

Nice Photos Wish I hadn't had to sell mine
GraemeCooper, just out of interest, whats your top speed? Very similar set up to what I had, same engine. I spent ages perfecting the trim (no power trim) adjusting the balance, and changing props. Best I got was 32knts.

Nice to see so many of Llanelli's finest out on the water.
Did any 4.7s turn out?
