In Photo 1 Is that like a spoiler, on a RIB?

it';s not a spoiler, it drops down between the engines and turns with them, the thinking is better stability and possible lift, they haven't tried it on the rib yet, bet you didn't notice my a frame on it did you

I had a good look at the 'spoiler' at the show.
As I walked up to it and realised it was on hydraulics my instant reaction was how much braking force it would give if dropped down on the move to the half way point
Sorry Biff, the A frame was too subtle for me to notice.
Nasher.

Yeh, it's had the centre 350 Verado removed, and replaced it with one of these... http://www.navships.com/aftlbsover.html

seablade 40
It's a seablade 40 apparently and the spoiler is an Adaptive Ride Enhancement System (ARES) It's supposedly to give a smoother ride so the Special Forces can rock up on a beach, fresh from their journey before killing everyone !
Apparently good for 50 knots with a load of 5 tonnes and a full compliment of gun toting personnel
