Here is my latest toy to tow the Pacific. I built this in 93 for a customer. It had a new 3.5 Mazda SLTI diesel and 4 speed ZF auto trans and Viscous couple transfer box. Air lockers front and rear, Old Man Emu suspension kit with double damper mounts if needed. 33x12.50x15 BFG MT tyres, ARB Delux winchbumper and Warn XD9000 winch, and loads of other mods. At the time it was state of the art. It makes approx 175 BHP and 300 lb ft torque. It is reasonably nippy, will do around 95 MPH and will pull the back legs off a donkey, whilst returning 25 MPG. It has only covered 3000 Miles since I built it! It is even the correct colour.

I like the Mazda SLT lovely engine could do with one for my ailing 2.8 Isuzu.

New tow vehicle. Still have to drive the boat off the trailer at that depth, downside of an offroad boat trailer!

Nah, just makes it a tad more elegant to get on and off the boat.

Winch is just the electric one. Yeah its a mantec bumper. I just made an L shapped plate that bolts through the bottom of the bumper to mount the ball onto.

Should have known there'd be a Landy thread somewhere
Attachment 106258
Attachment 106259
The 90 had 200 miles on it when we left the south coast, we cruised at 80+ all the way to Largs where we changed 3 axels, all braking system and ball hitch on the trailer, loaded the rib and towed 3.4t all the way home. Needless to say she was well run in by the end of the journey. Felt like we'd freed up some horses too.

Do the pics work for you? My internet is rubbish!
No the new ones are unlimited, on a closed private road it did 92mph, no drama either. If I did 85 in my 300tdi the doors would fall off, the pistons would come through the bonnet and it would be a classes as a near death experience!
