My New Toy
Guys& Girls
Just a short posting to say hi and show you my searider 5.4m have not collected yet got it from a very good pal who has bought a new one. To cut a long story short i have a honda Cr 125 on a 55 plate that he wanted so he now has a bike and i have a searider. Dont know how old it is but will need a little TLC been under cover for 2 years the engine is run and cleaned every week along with his new one to keep theem in shape.
Below some pictures, it has a Jonson 140 V4 on it at the mo i will have to swap this out for a 90 the 140 scares me and it is my first rib after all.

Bloody hell,is your transom intact?! I wouldn't even try using that with a 140 on. It's rated for maximum of 90hp!

Check the transom very very thoroughly. Any signs of cracking, don't buy it.I'd want the boat to be VERY cheap. The motor isn't worth much either by the way-no-one wants aging gas guzzlers. What value do you put on the CR125?
I suspect that old Johnson is more than the max rated weight too.
Last 2 digits of the hull ID number will give you the year.

I did wonder-didn't think CR125s were road reg'd.
Sounds good-at that price then, I wouldn't say no either.

Additional bench on SR 5.4
As my smallest kids can't properly reach the floor from the jockey seat, so made a lower bench for them. Now they can sit little lower and they feel pretty safe between the tubes and the main seat. It was built from garage leftover stuff so its not beautiful....It is fastened to the boat with a SS turnbuckle, so very easy to remove. Not much space left with the 70 liter tank in the rear, but still worth while. As You can see its pretty narrow to park the boat where it is, I need to pull it ther by hand
The good thing is that its incredibly difficult to steal.....

1983 5.4m Deluxe..
http://www.rib.net/forum/members/295...icture679.html
A little tatty round the edges, but rib 34.8knots on the GPS.. so no old slouch, and the covered bow means no typical searider wet boat effect as the bow cover and windscreen keep the waves and wind at bay..

It's much more comfortably, especially when you ride with 6 year old daughter
Besides, I have 2 rows of benches. First one for me and the little one, second for the miss - right now she can lie down and catch the sun

Hi ,
Yes of course I am interested to see pictures !
I am sure I am not the only one
Great job !
Must be very comfortable to get in / out of the boat and gives good storage for the anchor line or others ..
Regards - Jürgen

The thread title says show us "your" searider. Even last year it was mine. Still going strong and enjoying it's dual role.
Regards.
