I had a nice daytrip today on Lake Winnipeg from from Gimli to Gull Harbour, across to Black Island and back to Gimli. Not only is Gimli the hub of the largest Icelandic population outside of Iceland, it is a town so cool that the worlds most well known dwarf was named after it (not too sure about that last factoid). In any case the weather was sunny and hot (about 30 C) and it was great, as always, to be on the water. Round trip was 177 km and consumed about 60 liters of gas.
