This is going back sometime when we were talking about a hol in Jersey with Charles.
I said that my children come with us on the boat everywhere.
Well here is the proof is April 2000 (hence the T-shirts) in Greece, air temp about 23-24 deg C sea temp about 18-20 deg C.
My daughter then 2 and my son 10 years old
The boat is the GEMINI 5 mtrs. Same construction as those GEMINI makes for the SAfrican Coastguard (see aluminum strip by the keel). Have sold it when I go the Falcon but have now regreted it. It was a GOOD BOAT very versatile (due to her small size) and we had great fun with it for 10-12 years
My son tries to steady the boat after a wash from a cruiser
The boat had a 75 bhp Mariner with 17" standard aluminium pitch prop. The boat was not very fast (about 36-38 knots) but it could pull anything and ride any type of wave that we find in the Aegean. Had also a 19" standard aluminum prop and although with light loads could go faster it was not practical to use it with the family o/b.
I also had made some modifications in the local fiber glass repair yard. I changed the jokey seat (standard with GEMINI 5 mtrs at the time) to a a four seating arrangements thus got some more storage space and some space to fit a plastic (always plastic) fuel tank (70 litrs plus another 70 in the forward hold).
The engine also proved to be EXCELLENT in the 12 years we had the boat. It worked every time and NEVER EVER let us down. The only thing I found that it needed constant attention was the trim motor (but that was OK).
