me also!! Blackroady,i guess it wouldnt be legal but loads of fun tho, have really given up flying a couple of years ago to persue my marine antics but there are some aviation bargains around at the mo, i feel another project coming on,

chap said in the shop that with lots of sandpaper and sikaflex it would eventually look like this!!

Is that first picture in the beacons? Think I've been to that one if it's the case.

Course its legal - rule 5 - An aircraft shall not fly closer than 500 feet to any person, vessel, vehicle or structure - you are fine out there ! You cant call the land a structure can you ? And you are more than 500 ft form the lighthouse.

Like you I seem to have drifted from planes to boats - more freedom & less paperwork & slightly less cost ! ( only slightly ) . You'll need string also to rebuild a stringbag - and a lot of cash !

i suppose you are more than 500 ft, hmmm !!! i know what you mean about the cost, i started on rotary did that for 6 years then to save some dosh went on to fixed wing but i wasnt so interesting, e;g you couldnt fly to the pub or land in the back garden, or even touch down on your mates freelander, but ownership would be the only next option, what you reckon Blackroady?

Nah - you dont need to be more than 500 feet as there are no , persons , objects etc - you do a PFL and get below 500 each time & its fully legal.

Agree - boating is just more relaxed but with similar challenges, less hassle ( Aircraft US etc) . Never owned myself , but the oldman had an SE5a replica , couple of microlights & built a Peitenpol Aircamper ( which I broke - oops ! ) Now all sold . check out G-INFO for G-INNY , G-ECVB & G-MJTM - cant recall the other one ! Good looking bitsof kit ( mostly )
