Sub-5m Thames cruise

Another day out for Ribnet's sub-5m crews - this time on the Thames in searing temperatures. Daniel TD5 with wife Kelly and daughter Bethany, Bilge Rat and myself and brother launched close to the Docklands and initially headed east towards the Thames barrier.

The Dockland skyline.

Hard to believe I know, but when he's not driving RIBs, Bilge Rat actually has a highly paid and responsible job in the City!! And this is where he works.

Never one to refuse a pint, The Rat took it upon himself to bring his own keg this time just in case we didn't find a pub for lunch.

Bilge Rat's abortive attempt to emulate James Bond ends in disaster as he tries to enter the MI5 complex through the tradesman's entrance.

I have never taken a boat further downstream than Datchet (I think it was Datchet).......is there a speed limit on these parts of the Thames?

There is a speed limit upstream of Wandsworth bridge. The last time I was on the Thames was for the Great River Race - at the end of the day we ran all the way home to Richmond at 30kts PLA knew of course.
