Tek-Jet

Just about to be "launched" on the Rib Market, is this superb looking jet powered rib from Tek-Jet (more information on www.southernocean.net) of Hampshire.

The main power unit is an inboard Mercruiser Water Jet allowing fantastic shallow water cruising. The seating layout caters for 7 adults and hidden away in every nook and cranny are interesting storage areas to make excellent use of available space, there are even built-in cup holders.

The sculptured floatation tubes are designed to maximise the interior beam of the boat making it one of the most spacious for its length.

The modern styling is interesting and Tek-Jet are interested to hear what potential owners think. The boat will be available in a range of colours and extras include an aft boarding ladder and Bimini top.

Seating is fully styled and the standard boat will include navigation lighting, hydraulic steering and a music system

The guys at Tek-Jet are interested to hear from Rib owners and customers with comments on just how "right" they have got their design and styling.

It's certainly a cool looking boat! When can we have a go with one?

Does "sculptured floatation tubes" mean that they are not inflatable?

Looks like a nice boat.
However, the spoiler at the back a little bit futuristic and cannot see what advantages will offer to the boat excpet of disadvantages. But then again this is a personal thing.
Is there a boat like this one on the water yet??
Also I take it that is not an inflatable/inflatable as I understand it the pontoons do not inflate??
Overall, this is a nice looking boat and if the price is right and not hundred of thousands of pounds like some other RIBs I know it will sell - certainly in the Med or the US even (Americans are a posing lot and the boat certainly does that).
Good luck!!

Draughty

Twin consols with a space between them makes for a very cold seating arrangement. The breeze zips between them and then eddies around your bum.

Re: Draughty

I think that this new design is made for warm climates i.e. the Med, SW and SE US etc.
Somehow I don't see it to be a success in the UK.
To have something like that in the Northern hemisphere will need a reconfiguration of the deack seating arrangements (I think).
