Hi Last Tango..Im with you totally.

Although the cruise ship RIB entered the cave .. there was another cruise ship RIB standing at the entrance and it carried no tourists. I presume it was there to assist if things went wrong. I also suspect the person in the blue waterproofs ..who stood on the rocks and didn’t move while the RIBs were there .. was also cruise ship staff to assist if things went wrong. So they were very well prepared for the unexpected. We were not as we have never been inside it. I just didn’t think it worth a risk in such a remote and exposed place. Thanks for commenting ..its appreciated

Hi Stevie and Jeff ..here is the last episode. Im heading out for more boating tomorrow so wanted to complete this one tonight. Im delighted you enjoyed it and I hope to get a few more adventures like this one done over the summer..I will post them up when I do too.

Thanks again to JeffStevens and Highland Haggis for your company ..as mentioned in the video..Im starting planning a round Skye trip for later in the summer. Im hoping it can tie in with times that you guys can manage too. I will plan for three days this time as its distance is not much further than Mull or round Arran and Bute. Again..it is very exposed round the northern end ..so a good weather window is a must. I will keep in touch by email for suitable times etc.

I wish everyone a very enjoyable and safe boating season too..thanks for watching the videos

Best Regards
The Gurnard

If you're going round Skye there's a stunning little bay on the north shore of Loch Bracadale about half a mile into the loch from Idrigil point 57° 21.12 N 6° 33.94W.

Bolder beach but nice waterfall and rock pinnacle in the middle of the bay.

Cracking area for sibbing guys!
Never get bored of doing trips round there, I took a few pals from London out to fingals cave a couple of years ago and they said it was one of the best things they had ever done, and they are well travelled folk
Me and Simon are heading to treshnish Isles from Crinan next week to hopefully see the puffins. Keep up the good work weather is great for trips just now!
Cheers
Duggie

Hi Jambo ..good to see you around and Im glad you enjoyed watching the video

Hi Last Tango.. thanks for the info.. it is a stunning part of coast. From Loch Bracadale round to Dunvegan ..some say is the best in the UK. I did a good part of the west of Skye around 8 years ago ..in a 12 ft fibreglass loch boat powered with a 4HP outboard. Im not so sure I would do it in that boat now.Two years ago I did all the islands to the east..eg Rassay Rona etc in the F-Rib and 6HP so done most the route . I want to do it in one continuous journey though possibly around the end of Aug start of September time to suit the others

Good to see you around too Duggie . We saw a few puffins bobbing around the sea at Staffa. If we had managed the four days..I wanted to include the Treshnish too..but that is the way it goes. Next week is looking excellent forecast.. sun and flat sea all week. Im heading to the Solway tomorrow and gusts up to 30 mph over Sat and Sunday .. then Im off to Spain with my daughter. (babysitter to let them party at night) ... so I hope there is still good weather around when I return. Enjoy your trip.

I've sat on the bottom there (McLoeds Madens) in 100ft of water and could still see the boat on the surface

Pleased to see the final video guys... and that the reveal was a managed retreat (so to speak) rather than disaster. There's always another day.

We have this quite a lot on our days out particularly as we are not equipped to wild camp if we ran into impossible weather... so on our days out with a return to base before dark being essential I will often overrule the fearless Mrs F when she says lets go on it'll be OK.

Brilliant write up & video's - really enjoyed watching them.
Just wondered what cameras you use to film with & software to edit???
Really liked the route plotted on the map sowe could see exactly where you went, (especially as i dont know any of this area) was this from a plotter / App - it was a nice touch anyway :-)

Thanks

Hi Fred..apologies for late reply ..I was away a few days without internet access.

As HH mentions ..I use a Gopro Hero 5 on a hand held gimbal for stability. A Sony AX53 camcorder for normal to zoom views and a Sony RXIII camera for the still shots. All edited in Powerdirector.

The Maps are line drawings on top of map images made in the editing software so the line appears to move

Thanks for your kind comments.
