The long wait is over

Today I collected my new Ribcraft 585 "Voyager".

Needless to say I am extremely pleased - she looks loads better in real life than I could have possibly imagined and any worries I had about spending all that money on a boat were washed away the moment I caught a glimpse of her at the factory.

Well done - looks really good.

Having the console further forward makes for a much better balanced boat - looks very similar to the Ribeye I did my PB2 in the other day - that went very well with a smaller engine than yours!!!

Post some more pics and a write up of your first trip!!!

Its a 178C - I had a black and white 178 on my last boat and found it to be a great unit - so this time I treated my self to a colour screen.

Thanks everyone for you comments. I am very pleased with it - cant wait to get it on the water - even though the forecast is rain for this weekend.

Yes Luke and Amy are very happy - not sure they are quite as keen as me to do a trip out in the rain though.

This has allready been debated but I have a 21 prop so max theoretical speed is 45 knots - so depending on what my prop slip works out at should be in the region of just over 40 knots I reckon. One things for sure - i'm going to have a lot of fun finding out the actual figure.

There is nothing stopping me now (except work and the price of fuel) - I should be out most weekends at least when the summer comes - I should be out a fair bit during the winter months too - I'm not planning to winterize.

Having seen it in the flesh I can vouch for the fact that it looks even better than in the pics, the attention to detail and finish look superb.
Best of luck with her Roy

Great looking RIB Roy - I know these work well after trying one the same spec at Ribcraft's open day at Portland a couple of weeks ago - it handled the rough stuff extremely well and the Suzuki 140 is superb - a really good choice and I'm envious as hell.
Did you specify the irregular lengths of the lifelines, or is that how they came out of the can???

Beautiful boat. I'm jealous. Truly jealous. I think I want a Ribcraft 5.85 as my next boat.

Lovely.

You might want to remove the spare wheel and put it in your boot. My spare wheel was in the same location and grounded the first time I brought my new RIB home. Also, it will stop someone from nicking it.

Have lots of fun.
