The New Hysucat

Sorry to disappoint, BUT it is not a rib. This is the craft Malan is now building and marketing for the American market. Astonishing results have already been posted for speed, sea-keeping and fuel consumption which translates to a highly efficient hull coupled to the foils amidships. Going for a spin in one in 2 weeks time

Charles, if I am not mistaken that is the Victoria & Alfred Dock behind the seawall in the background. If so, it brings back interestin' memeories.

I'm still very interested in the concept of the 10m Hysucat RIB with the landing craft bow and the aft mounted cabin. Can you find out whether your mate Malan would be interested in discussing the idea with me at some stage?

Have a nice time down there in SA.

Cheers....

You are quite correct Mike, in fact it is Granger Bay, just next to the brilliant waterfront area with Table Mountain in the background. I will be spending a lot of time with Malan, so maybe e-mail your wishlist with everything you can think of and I will try and put some answers to your questions.

Will you be able to access that jerseynet email address of yours in SA, Charles? If that's the one you'll be using let me know.

Alternatively, I can post a sketch of my idea on this thread. I imagine you'll not be able to go 6 weeks without a dose of RIBnet now and then!

I will be able to access my jerseymail acount, but if you could send it before the beginning of April as I leave shortly afterwards.

Your earlier comment on another thread re 'losing interest' is quite apllicable, so a break for a month wouuld probably be good.

Mike I know this is a long shot but I thought you might just be interested in the Dyson Sea Truck see http://www.searchappliance.co.uk/Man...Info/dyson.htm

A friend tells me they used them in the North Sea on the Riggs and it was great also it handled ruffty stuff well.

Good luck

CH, give it two hulls, some shock-absorbing anti-stuffing tubes and slightly less angular lines with a bit of aft deck - and it's pretty much what I had in mind.

Charles, I thought John had zapped that post so quick that no one had spotted it. It was a good thing. There's nowt wrong with a bit of censorship to keep life on a even keel

I'll email a scribble before the end of the month.

Cheers guys
