Hi Chris. I do the painting etc. too but hubby (Trevor) gets to do all of the high parts because he is 6ft5in tall. Is that last pic taken as you are going into the harbour at Portsmouth?

I see you snuck another one in as I was writing. My question was referring to the pic with several boats in it.

Hello again Deana,

Yes, it was.

I had to look twice, as there is some similarity with Hurst Castle, near the Needles, which is in some of my other pics.

The pic below ... must have been a RIBster in a former life!

I hope I'm not hogging the site with all these. They were taken on conventional 35mm, printed, scanned and then adjusted for exposure. I have just sent my camera away to be repaired, as the metering is not right.

OK, so here's another, although I am not sure that he was "one of us" on the day.

I think I had better go back and finish my DIY, but I'll be back!

I hope you like the pics. There are still a few that I have selected, where individual boats are looking good. Here's one to be going on with. (Not sure if I have already posted this one!)

Chris.

Hi again, Chris. Do you mind if I download some of your pics? I'm in the process of compiling as many pictures as possible from the trip. I hope to put some into a scrapbook for my 4-year old so she can see what her Poppy was a part of on the Jolly Sailor.

Deana,

You would be most welcome to download any of my pics.

I have followed JK's instructions and kept them down to his "ideal" of around 100k, so I hope the quality is high enough. I can always email in higher resolution, if you want better quality.

I suspect that some of the other pics on this site are at a rather higher resolution than 100K (but don't tell John!).

Best wishes,

Chris.

No one on this site would bend the rules, would they? Ha! Ha!
As they say, "When the cat is away, the mice will play!"

Hi George. Unfortunately I don't have much to report about Dad's homecoming other than the fact that I'm sooooo relieved that he his home. He lives in Newfoundland and I live across the country in Alberta. To give you an idea of the space between us, it takes about 5 days to drive from here to there and that is with minimal stops. We talk on the phone almost daily and of course we both email but it is still not the same as being there. We are hoping to go home next sumer for a holiday.
