The stirrups are held open by having the plastic base to put your foot on.
I'm also unlikely to be out in very bad weather, or to push the boat hard enough to turn it over, with my kids on board.

Buy!, Buy! don't know the meaning of the word.
As mentioned It's an ongoing project.
Just a strip of 6mm hard plastic with a slot across the ends to thread the web through and two buckles to connect to the main web.
If the Plastic proves too weak I can easily re-make them in Aluminium.
When I've finished them I'll post a pic or two, but It'll be a few days.
Nasher.

Think you could use some orange webbing from lashing straps (I have plenty of these hanging about) looped and stitched - and add the 'nasher' foot plate in. Seems the best way to go go as it is very easily removable and stowable.
Would attach to console by running under the seat which lifts up for access.

thinking cap in place and light now on
my jockey bases are rectangular and are wider at the bottom, i am thinking of making a foot plate that will slide down to a predermined height, ie the size of the gap betwen the sides. it will be a u shape whith a strap to go round the back to hold it in place, it will be easily removed but when in place will be very firm as a foothold, also no holes will need to be drilled etc, when he grows i just replace the front edge with a bigger piece or just make a new plate with a bigger gap and hey presto all done
the stirrups sound good but i want something firm under foot for him to inspire confidence but also is very quickly and easily removed and stored
i dont think it will take much to make either which is a bonus, will post pics when done

naming decals now fitted
have my vipermax logos now on the side of the boat, these are fitted in a strip down the side of the hull which is around 13-14 cm deep. As i decided not to have colour stripes below the rubbing strake as the water can pick away at the hypalon so this adds a bit of customisation and uniqueness and makes up for the lack of stripes etc.
You can have custom Boat Graphics done to your own design in 10year anti fade lettering which is very high quality, I had these made by print solutions and they did the artwork as well which was cool. Really pleased with the results and quality.
they are contactable on 01420 80955, ask for Richard

I recon you should have put blue flames down either sides instead of the lettering.

was chatting with the guy that is making two screens, one for his and one for mine, hopefully can get them made up in the next couple of weeks adn then i will get the custom screen rails made up as well. will go for a dark tint in a black sort of colour
due to the rake of the screen it will be around 400 mm high in which will be around 300 mm or so above the console. seems around the perfect balance.
need to see if any other owners of ospreys with low discovery consoles need a screen for theirs

Spent the day on the water on sunday and monday and had a great day, I must say the Osprey Vipermax does handle very well and we went in search for waves to jump as that is tremendous fun, tipped it over 50 as we are moving thru the run in cycle so can take the revs up a bit more now. But it feels nice and steady at speed and can cruise at a good 30-40 comfortably even when there is a bit of a chop and gives a nice soft landing thru waves. Very good for giving confidence.
will post some pics in due course
