Toronto Boat Show
I spent a few hours poking around the Toronto Boat Show yesterday. There was more RIBs there than I can remember from previous years. The "usual suspects" were there with Zodiac having a large display including a CZ7... an amazing boat, but even the dealer thought it was overpriced. I spoke with the President of Zodiac NA who offered me a two-for-one deal... Unfortunatley the second one was a 18" model...
What was intersting though was the influx of EE boats made in the Ukraine... Brig, Grand etc. They aren't my cup of tea, but the prices are sure right.
Here's a few pics for your review. Sorry for the quality as I was using a wee camera...

Some alternate offerings... These wouldn't last a weekend of diving I don't think (flimsy windshields, light-weight fibreglass trim etc) but for a sport boat they might be fine. As I said, they're priced right...

And finally, Caribe. I'm not sure where these come from but looked pretty good. Of course I'm a sucker for flashing lights and emergency stickers. Not sure about using a white boat for oil spill work mind you...
Also and offering from Mercury Marine but no one was around and there was no literature so I can't tell you anything about it other than it's orange and appeared to have PVC toobs...
Now let me get the hell out of this city!

Hey PT... I saw a nice camo Floater suit and thought of you! Is your lake hard yet? We had a big thaw and could have used the boat but it's all locked up in storage and the guy has gone to Florida.
This pic is from a local website, taken Jan 13...

The lakes around here have been frozen up for a while now, save for some very high current areas near river outlets. Haven't been out yet, but I hear the ice fishing has been pretty good so far. Saw some open water last week, but I was in Arizona at the time.

However, the lake (Canyon L. east of Mesa) was drained pretty dry, with just enough water left so that the boats in the marina could still float.

Stoo;
Thanks for the pics.
What's the deal with that console display on the Pro-however-big-it-was? Is that a cardboard mockup or something?

Just east Phoenix. Some amazingly beautiful country throughout the area. Not as many lakes as we are used to though...

No that was the real thing... there's a couple of plastic folders in front but it was pretty big... I think the boat was 23 or 24 feet... It was a big 'un
