Toys,Toys & more Toys!!

OK, when is enough ,enough??
Came across this floating showroom of opulance today while out on the Bay.
The helicopter caught my attention at first, but then as I got closer my attention changed to the water toys.
1 RIB in font of the nose of the helicopter & 2 PWC each side.
Lower deck ;2 large ribs, one complete with fold down radar arch.
Anyone want to pick up the price tag to buy this combo

PS. would be interesting to see him land that chopper on the boat

cheers Dal

Helo Landing

While launching at the Shelter Island boat ramp I observed the red helo landing on the floating playground. Prior to your picture taking the playground boat stopped at the bait barge (Sealion Hotel) and took a few scoops of bait. All this spying and I forgot to write the name of the boat, do you recall the boat name?

Bet you didn't get one from this angle!!!

http://www.yachtforums.com/forums/de...on-triton.html

Google is a wonderful thing!!!

And if you think that's impressive look at this

http://powerandmotoryacht.com/megaya...00/index1.html

Some of these mega yachts are over 400' long - that tiddler is only 165'.......

Mind you I don't think I would say no!!!!

Nicely "Googled" Codders.
Wondered how they launched the ribs
CAH , right under Triton on the stern : "Bikini" now is that the name or where she's registered Either way probably very apt,

When in Falmouth a couple of summers ago Abramovich's (Russian oil tycoon owner of Chelsea football club for or US friends) yacht 'Pelorus' (something like that) came in. It was 97m (300ft) with a 90ft wide hydraulically lowering transom which became a hellicopter pad and play area. It was the same size as a cross channel ferry!! A friend of a friend brokered the sale of the thing to him and pretty much retired on the proceeds!

Now I was about to get my cheque book out when I discovered that Triton has a cruising speed of 14 knots and a maximum speed of 16 knots. What right minded Ribster would buy a boat that goes that slowly?

Besides, I don't think it would get through the gap at Tarbert!

In Dartmouth a few year's back, The Grand Blur, (or similar)

on the far side was, what look like a match race yacht, about 60 ft, check the spreaders on the mast 4 sets!!, on this side a 60ft !? motor yacht, with surface drives, the davits arms were big enough !!

And under the bridge, a pair of Scorpion ribs ??
The transom opened up as a garage, for more toys,
Far the Dartmouth pontoon, she almost wiped out the view of Kingswear !!
was told by the dockie, his bill was near £3k for berthing for 3 nights !!!

No chopper though, but be slumming it !!

Read a mag article on Roman's yachts - they claimed they would do 46kts!!! I would say Grand Blue would top 22 at most.

That Triton may be slow but look at the range - it has 2x 1000hp engines - not bad when you think a 75ft sunseeker has the same - mind you even though it is an economical displacement hull it still uses 3gallons per mile!!!

AFAIK he has now upgraded the tender to a Sunseeker Predator 68
There is at least one (second hand!) Scorpion on board too

I occasionally have a sub on my boat - when I get a chance to stop at Quizno's on the way to the lake.

this is the speedy one (Ecstasea), note the central waterjet/gas turbine: http://www.roman-abramovich.com/ecst...abramovich.htm

He doesn't own le grand bleu any more - gave it to a friend as a present last year.

One of my best friends is Cpt of this one. Only a small one in comparison but amazing to be onboard. I expected it to be tacky but quite the opposite, spends the summer between St Tropez and Monaco drinking and keeping its owner smiling Nice life for a 38 year old guy!!
