Turtles

Was out on a local lake this weekend and the weather was very warm & sunny both days. Boated up to a small set of falls (Mallard Falls) between 2 lakes along the Whiteshell River system and saw 5 turtles out sunning themselves right by the falls.

The larger of 2 snapping turtles we saw on a couple of rocks - these guys have a mean streak a mile wide!

It looks like a pie. Saves all that messing about with pastry! Just stick it in the oven. Actually I could never do that as I have a rule. Never eat anything I can recognise. I couldn't eat it for the guilt.

If I ever got stranded on a desert island (unlikely I know) if there wasn't a lot of fruit and vegetables I'd starve to death.
