Ugly A frame ? Let me know your opinions
What do you all think of this frame ?
Frame was made by the previous owner , full stainless, and has probably spent a few few quid so far , but what does it need to finish it ?
Moving back?
Colour. ?
Something to beef up the sides maybe (looks bare)
Curious to what you fellas think

Well it ain’t the ugliest thing I’ve seen, but it does seem oddly positioned?
I suppose here’s the dilemma. The Ribtec 6.5m Camel rib was a bit of an icon of the time. It had all over scaffold structure rather than traditional A frame, powder coated, emblazoned with Camel logos and spotlights. If you were keeping it original you’d have dumped the Mercury too in search of an underpowered and lardy Honda 130hp.
I suppose the first thing you could do is shift it further back. Any further forward and it starts to look like a Bimini T top! Consider powder coating too to remove the bling of stainless would be my advice.

Wakeboard boats have their towers forward over the tracking fins. Otherwise a rider can easily pull the boat around. A hard heel side cut out leans a boat pretty far over and causes the driver to counter steer.
Your boat has wakeboard racks, so it is possible they were probably trying to be a little more serious about wakeboarding, without switching to a V-drive.

Hi Andy, I know nothing about Rib's so I'm looking at this purely aesthetically.
Sorry but it looks like the 10mtr diving platform from the old Wigan baths, I wondered what happened to it.
Is that Rhosneigr?

Yep I'm not a rib owner but know what looks pleasing and that doesn't. If you put a thumb over the arch on the image it looks a different boat.

Originally that frame was that same height , and was stretch out all the way to the front seats , making a huge rack, the guy who I got it off had the rear section replicated , think he was making it back into its former glory days

I agree it does look tall. There is a possibility to modify it by either cutting sections out, or off. The tape measure can help get it figured out.

The original ones were to support expedition kit and probably weighed a ton!
