Viper refurb

The Ocean Pro has been sold to a discerning buyer from Belgium so this is the winter project. As Osprey give me a fair amount of work, I thought I'd better show a bit of loyalty so I've bought this. It's a 1995 Viper 6.5 wide hull originally ordered by Lancashire Police dive unit but has been working the Menai strait for the last few years. I think I'll keep the blue lights and make a few bob issuing speeding tickets to the Cheshire mob in Abersoch.

So, nothing to do with the fact that you've been given the keys for the store cupboard in Willenhall for a few days then???....

Err..... Err..... Err.......I've checked with the builder and it's a 1995 Osprey Falcon commercial spec weighing in at 170kg more than the equivalent length Viper so it's 10 knots slower but carries a bigger payload.

I agree with JW. That Jono is a bad person. I wouldn't dream of taking the piss if the boot was on the other foot. For anyone thinking of visiting Osprey this week, there is a height restriction of 6' 2''.

The Falcon/Viper had its first run out this week. It goes well in the rough but it's a bit thirsty on the gas. The console has been rewired with a system for each engine. Batteries and all electronics/wiring are above tube height so it should survive a good swamping.

Twin Mariners have been serviced by Nick at Osprey, and have Ballistic S/S props fitted. Two 2man seat pods have been ordered from the factory to fill up the ballroom sized space abaft the helm console. It was used for teaching this weekend. Five up with full tanks and loads of kit, it managed 36knots top end and could take a full lock turn without the arse end skipping out. It gives a very dry ride but not for any boat travelling alongside as it throws an impressive bow wave to each side. Ask Ian and his crew

Yes please, Mr. Kennet. Can you rename it 'Why I didn't fit a Steyr engine in my Osprey rib'.

Yep, it's a gas filled balloon shaped thingy, set off by pull cord, designed to flip the boat back over. If Jonno's driving it'll be a gas filled balloon shaped thingy that flips it over in the first place.
