The flare seemed to work very well actually!
The stunt was done by a guy called Troy Hartman. Have a look at
some of his other stuff
!

Possibly, but I suspect that he puts rather more thought and planning into his activities than most Darwin candidates.
Having said that I wouldn't rate his chances of getting Life Insurance at a competitive price!
