You may not believe this....Phil didn't.

OK, picture this. It's a pleasant summers day, a good day for a picnic by the quayside with friends followed by a genteel cruise up a river and a blast out into the sea. The kids are laughing, even the wifes enjoying herself. Everyone's having fun.

Then someone throws a bucket of water over your head.

This is exactly what happened to my good friend.....Phil Davies ....and my wife, youngest daughter, my wife's friend and her youngest daughter... only it wasn't a bucket - it was the wake from my boat.

Unfortunatly, they were all on Phil's boat - to keep safe and dry - whilst I ponced about in my boat and Phil did some filming.

Why exactly I passed within 6 inches of Phil's stern I will never know however, the words of my friend, sat next to me, more or less summed up the situation immediately afterwards "F*##in 'ell mate.......you're dead". My wife does not like getting wet.

However, what really made the day was the video of the whole sad episode, filmed, directed, produced and narrated by none other than the great man himself, Phil Davies. What even now makes me chuckle every time I watch it are Phil's immortal words as his beloved boat is filled with water and he is drenched from head to foot. Think Victor Meldew.

Thank you Phil - you really made my day - and sorry again!

WARNING - This video is about 15Mb and takes about 5 minutes to download even with broadband. If you know Phil you HAVE to watch it. The boat you see buzzing around is mine. Make sure you have the sound on. I really hope you can access it.

Phyllis - ya know I luv ya!

Yup, Blackwater. Maybe see you around (probably minus the wife) - it was my first time there but I reckon its my nearest water.

Having had the pleasure of soaking them, now make £250.00 by sending it off to 'You've Been Framed'.

Griffith 500 - had it from new since 1997 and as usual can't bring myself to sell it coz I luv it sooooo much. Had a TVR 350i before that, wouldn't drive any sports car other than a TVR. Did test drive a Tuscan S a couple of weeks ago with a view to trading the Griff in next Spring when they bring out the Tuscan 2 Convertible, although I have to say the noise from the TVR Straight 6 engine is VERY disappointing compared to the 5-litre V8. Power delivery very cammy, too, compared to the V8, but hey it's got 400hp versus my measly 340

We are (son and my self) thinking to change our V12 750i and 350bhp and for this one and have 20+bhp/kg instead of 5.7 bhp/kg PROVIDED our head of the family doesn't object vigorously
