Your boat on Google Earth
It seems that google have made a big update to the google earth imagery, enough so that I can see our boat clearly on its trailer!
Can you see yours?
Ricky

Ha, just cant please some people google earth has to be the best thing I have played with on a PC for years, its amazing.
Go visit San Diago harbour and look at the US Navy in dock, or Pima Airforce
Base and see all the bombers chopped us for the old USSR to check up on. OR, try finding apolo19 ... its awesome, spent hours I have exploring the world.
For those in Portsmouth go look at the tower ... sort gives the date away.

It's interesting that the tower is almost finished, yet there is no sign of Clarence Marina. Work started on the marina and the tower in 2001.

Wierdest thing I've spotted so far is that you can make out the outline of the wreck of HMS Hood in the southern entrance to Portland harbour...!

Only some parts are Hi Res. Have a look for brighter "blocks" which are the better quality parts. Plymouth is about the closest to you.

Probably if they think its a rough area and they don't want to get too close they stay well away. Those satelites jobbies are well expensive. Cant be having one nicked you see!!!

I think I get you, so West London is just a random grey splodge with very little definition.
There are some areas that do look like they shot them on a slightly cloudy day but the let them through anyway. Like Hartlepool, Ribnetters and West Londoners beware, if you put ashore there on a dark and stormy night any members of the party that may look vaguely like a monkey have been known to face the gallows.
Admittedly it was a french monkey so it had the disadvantage of not understanding the questions.

Not quite!!! These are special sections in connection with people like National Geographic.
Not all these images are satellite generated - the better ones are aerial photos.
As to commercial - they are often better than the gov ones - the US often buys time on Ikonos V to do their work for them.
Remember there are limits to what can be seen due to the atmosphere. Cloud - dust - smoke - fog - heat haze etc etc all limit resolution and there are no current ways around that!!!

You've spoilt it now! I was going to say that the Land Rover was mine and I got my mate at NASA to take a pic for me
