A new Avon 5.4 Searider was stolen from a mooring at Seaview. Isle of Wight during the night on 22nd July.
The craft was on charter to a customer and was secured to a Seaview Yacht Club Mooring.
The coastguard recovered the rib and the lifeboat towed it into Hayling Island Sailing Club.
The 60hp Yamaha four stroke had been removed along with all fixtures and fittings. Also the thieves had slashed the tubes more than a dozen times in an effort to sink the craft out at sea.
