Engine Stolen - Port Edgar - Edinburgh

I received this today:


Dear Boat Owners ,

Have you been offered a cheap outboard engine lately………………………..
Please see below for details of one that has recently went missing from Port Edgar Marina it was removed from the back of a RIB parked on the land in the last three weeks whilst also causing some damage to the craft itself.
It is a Yamaha F80 BETL ( 80hp)
VIN No: 1008822


The police are currently reviewing CCTV footage in the hope of identifying the culprit but I thought as boat owners I should bring your attention to this and other recent attempted thefts in our area.

Not my Engine thankfully- Only Police or Insurance Companies can add to stolen boats i believe.

Hope they catch the B's. Wonder where it was parked up, got my rhib going back on a mooring there at the end of the month.

Have to say, have had my RIB parked at Port Edgar and not convinced that security is anywhere near where it should be. The CCTV is apparently pretty much worthless. Gutting, as not exactly cheap to leave your pride and joy in their care.
