Look out

Saw this posted on another forum today

Warning the East European thieves are back down south again. Please pass on the warning to clubs/marinas etc.
Warning note sent from Hampshire.

Keep a watch out ladies and gents they are active again down South! Please feel free to forward to other businesses/yards around Poole. If the message arrives twice I don't think people will mind.

Stolen RIB from HILLHEAD Sailing Club, Hampshire. (No other details at this stage.)

Hi All

We have suffered 4 outboard thefts from the same compound in Yarmouth, Isle of Wight in the last few days.

Please note:- Early investigations indicate that this was carried out by an organised crime gang of Lithuanian males using hire vans and other vehicles displaying English registrations (owned by them) as support vehicles on the day of the theft. There is strong evidence suggesting the gang used a 4x4 vehicle to carry out a reccy of the targeted premises about 7 days before the theft.

Please be alert to this and record number plates of any suspicious vehicles at your marinas and sailing clubs - they predictably target the more 'out of the way' premises so we would deem these to be most at risk.

Both of these messages came from...

Matthew Gransden | PC 22177 SB Marine Unit |
Marine Unit Office, Southern Support and Training Headquarters, Hamble Lane, Hamble, SOUTHAMPTON, SO31 4TS
DDI: 02380 450831 | (Int: 71-3401|
Mob: 07774 684317|

Any information especially re. suspicious vehicles, 101 and ask for Marine officers of Poole SNT sergeant and/or Marine Unit Office in Southampton. Again 101 but ask for Hampshire.

Just about to send out when another message came through from Tristan Oliver, this time a Honda engine from Keyhaven... They are moving this way!!!
