Interesting idea only this is not an easy thing to organise. I was fortunate to participate in such in 1999 so would probably pass on another such cruise
Petrol is not available in the Scottish Marinas and that is a major problem for large petrol ribs with inboard fuel tanks. Not to mention the fuel bill . Diesel is the way to go

Petrol is available in Largs Marina on the clyde. Im sure if people were to come up here we could lend a hand. Over the years we have aquired a vast knowledge of petrol stations on the west coast

With all your respect but the West Coast is not all the way round. I have experienced from first hand the problems in getting petrol and believe me if not for the 100 ltr tank on wheels which we had on board with us around Britain we would not have managed. To some petrol stations it was a long way to go for fuel and as we had a 9 mtr Zodiac a number of such trips had to be made to fill the tanks

How about a RIB raid based in Largs (or Inverkip, or similar), and making it part of a Round Britain cruise for those that want to? Depending on where individuals start it could be the beginning or the end of their Round Britain, or a break half way . . .
John

Andre, if i knew all the petrol stations all the way round my name would probably be Garmin or Raymarine.
I am offering to help for a small part of the journey which I know about.

I Like JK's idea, cos I sail out of Largs , Presumably some sort of petrol fuel bowser is out of the question ?

Anglesey Sounds Better
Agree with Phil .... Anglesey sounds good ... Dread to think what round Britain would cost me in fuel and time off work ... would probably have to sell my house!!! .... But hey ... guess I could then buy a big boat and sleep in Luxury on the Trip!!! Best of Luck to you if it comes off .... and to all those who join you.
Will be in Anglesey along with all the other regulars from Trearddur bay at August Bank Holiday next week Anyone fancies a cruise/Meet let me know this week .... Going down on Thursday Evening .... Weather permitting, would lke to do a cruise around the Island.

Much to my surprise......
......my missus didn't give me hell when I dropped this into the conversation last night ( what's she up to ? ) , so count me in as registering an interest . Guess I'm more likely to be coming along as crew on a larger boat if anyone will have me than struggle with the logistics of a petrol engined 5.85 .

I'll be hanging around Conwy Bay on Saturday. Would certainly like to meet/cruise part of the way round the north side of Anglesey with you as you pass. Weather dependant ofcourse!! Let me know your course and timing.
Andy
