I'm still up for the Saturday - need to drop Pam and the kids off at Stormforce for 9am for their PB2 course then I'll be coming down to meet you.

Where is the Camp site you intend using, or where and when are you hoping non-campers will rendezvous?

I hope to be in the Searider but as of this morning it still needs a few bits putting back on it, and I'll probably still not have reverse gear available by Saturday!

Ok, some news.

The campsite we used before is closed for the winter.I'm looking at another one which is very close to Warsash, but I need firm booking numbers ASAP as I'm going to have to pre-book by card.

Either that or we look somewhere else-there's one on Hayling Island that looks promising. Time's running short though...

better off in New Forest? there's one Brockenhurst way, on the main road, I'll look it up. Not a bad dash then to Calshot to launch maybe

or the one by Mercury Yacht Haven?

Can't find the Brockenhurst one, but this place by Netley Abbey looks OK:-
Camping In Hampshire, UK

Or the Mercury Yach Haven one is here:-

It's that 1st one I was looking at-that needs prebooking.

The second wants £3.50 per metre per boat!

Hollands Wood?

Closed until 2012 now though

You could try the one on the New Forest Showground, closes on 31 October. A basic, but level site with clean toilet/shower block (portable buildings, but good) Only a mile or so outside Brockenhurst and just off the main Lyndhurst road. Beware the rutting stags at this time of year though.
Long Meadow Campsite:
Long Meadow Campsite , Brockenhurst Campsites, Hampshire

You can't beat a bit of local knowledge

As far as I know, anyone's welcome - the more the merrier (and I suspect Neil won't be in his Searider either).

Yes-see you there!

Be aware, I've been having trouble sorting a campsite, so we may have to rough it somewhere...

as an alternative, tides look good for going into island harbour in the evening (IIRC we are just coming off neaps which should make getting in easy almost any time) and leaving in the morning

but looking at prices, maybe a tad expensive

Once again other commitments have got in the way of us attending a cruise.
Have not made a single one this year

I was hoping that being Half Term my two lads wouldn't have school Rugby matches, but it was just wishful thinking.

Have a great time.

Nasher.

If your happy for Grimalkin to be treated as an honorary Searider like last time, I'm up for this. Are there any plans for the day to meet up later in case anyone is delayed? A lunchtime RV would be good. Yarmouth or The Folly perhaps?

With regards campsites, have you tried Hurst View? 800m away from a good pub and handy for Lymington: Hurst View Leisure, camping, luxury holiday accomodation, log cabin, new forest, Milford-on-Sea, Lymington, hampshire, uk

Hope to see you tomorrow.

David

Hi David, all ribs welcome

Looks like I'll be on the water around lunch time so I'll text Nos and see if I can catch up.
