Not so good for launching though. Nothing at all actually in Brighton although there are options at Shoreham or Newhaven..

Ah, OK. If I'm around I may be able to transport gear up to the campsite for you.

Hi
Just a thought.
There is a campsite next to Mercury marina on the Hamble. We might get a deal for mooring a few boats overnight and no need to lug any equipment around for the camping.
Pete

Good idea,
Or we could camp for free on the island, £10 for overnight mooring, showers cost £1. Evening meal and breakfast close by
Or we could camp on the beach at priory bay?
Or is there a hotel barge at Bainbridge ? (if that's how you spell it)
More ideas please

Hi
When you say free camping on the island do you mean the isle of wight or Hayling island. Either way it sounds like a good deal !!.
Have you got a date in mind ?.
Anyway whatever you decide count me in.
Pete

It's on the Isle of Wight
Or
£55 for a twin room at the Anchor Inn, Cowes, with a live band downstairs if we plan it right Probably £15 for moorings though.

It's called riverside campsite I think.
Anyway not likely to get any deals at the marina in my experience. That said it's a nice sheltered slipway.

Correct - here's a link: Riverside Holidays, Hamble - Lodges / Camping / Touring - Hampshire
Parents go their often with their caravan. It's very cheap and the staff are very friendly. You can make use of the Marina bar and restaurant which is handy. Free slipway just round the corner too
