theres a lot pf stories some are true some aren't! I don't much care what people say about me and I certainly don't mind people having a pop.

The point I was trying to make is that the slipways are easy to use and with good parking. Town quays a peach cos no fkkr uses it and has a good rake. but for the money chris pays Hythe is a bargain especially when you consider who owns it

Camber Dock is great, but bring enough pound coins for the parking meter, I think about £8, but it may have gone up. Also, £2ish for the slip barrier, it it has been closed. It's a really good steep slip with somewhere to tie the boat after launch and before recovery.

I've never lauched at Calshot, but at least the one on the end of the spit is a good steep and wide slip. £14.50 per boat up to 6m, including parking for car and trailer, according to baot launch.

Calshot has the bonus of being nearer the New Forest, so accessible to good/nice campsites. You can also camp at Calshot, but it might only be for members.

Alternatively, depending on tides, you could camp at Island Harbour up the Medina. You lock in and out of the marina when enough water, but it's quite nice. May prove a bit difficult taking all the gear in a SR though...

Am back that weekend, so may well join you, not sure if it will be in the SR though
I launched from Calshot on Sunday and normally do when down that way £19.50 for a 6.5 m rib, on the up side loads of parking, fresh water hose, massive slip I've seen four boats launch side by side still leaving room for the Lifeboat and security cameras cover most of the area.

Camping is a members only thing and there is a waiting list

When I was a kid I got "lost" walking along Studland beach, granted they was a few wrinklies but they was some stunners too!

Let me know where your staying DP and I'll book the same place, as long as it has a shower!

I'm planning on going down on Friday anyway, I'd be shafted if I travelled down Saturday morning.
My plan of attack is travel down Friday, stop on said campsite with the other Northern monkey have a good blast about Saturday, stay over Saturday night then travel home Sunday.

I can make my self free any date really. Will hopefully have finished pimping my SR4 by then! Camber is probably the best slip on the South Coast. I'll be launching there in the morning. If anyone else wants to launch at the same sort of time I have a key to the gate so you can launch for free, plus I can get 12 hour parking permits for £1.50 (or a pint at lunchtime)

Camber dock - Old Portsmouth. Search on here or boatlaunch. Theres a dedicated trailer park opposite, and a couple of good pubs next to it. Theres also several B&Bs in Old Portsmouth if your staying overnight.

Solent breezes is a good choice, it has a private slipway and moorings and is opposite Calshot and Cowes.

Here
