I concur and as it's JK's site and group maybe he should decide time and place and we all fall into line. But I suppose nothing in cast in stone yet.

There's always London Boat show to break up the winter months - how about 2 meets

Regarding Cowes - I must be one of the few who actually like the place.

Accomodation

Hi Guys

When ever i stay in Cowe i stay at the Duke of York pub just out side the marina. Its good accomodation and fairly cheap etc. They have about 30 rooms and i think 2 flats. The number is Duke of York Mill Hill Rd., Cowes 295171.

Or click on this link and it list lots of B & B s and Public houses that we could stay in .

www.cowes.co.uk

I think Yarmouth is much nicer to stay in but not sure of accomodation there.

It's not really my group, I just help it along

Someone does need to decide the time and place though, and it can be anyone who is prepared to make the effort to organise the meet.

Perhaps this ought to be the second OFFICIAL RIBnet conference . . .

Hi

Decide on a DATE. Stick to it. People can then make their arrangements as needed. Some people will be available, others will not. You will never find a weekend that will suit everybody.

I'm out for the first week in June as it is my 30th wedding anniversary and we will be away on holiday, but I wouldn't expect anyone to change their arrangements for me.

The sooner you can decide on a date the sooner it can go in people's diaries.

For the sake of simplicty, Just run with the dates and location of RIBEX, if you dont want to go ribbing you can look at them ,and touch them and talk about them, in RIBEX , and if you get Pissed off with HMS or whatever your problem might be? you can go out in your Rib, or someone elses???

And the socal life will be good

But most of all it means I dont have to plan 2 trips to the UK for Rib related events.......and that means I stay married a bit longer...

As "official" 2nd organiser, and since 90% of people seam to agree with this it's set in stone now. Book holiday, send wifes and kids to the inlaws...

As for my suggestion of a 2nd Inaugural RIBnet Conference, it's all part of my warped sense of humour i'm affraid.

I suggest we make this a 3 day event, try and gather somewhere for the two evenings for a social and get some cruises in as well.

Friday 4th: ?
Sat 5th: Visit RIBex en-mass
Sun 6th: Round-the-island cruise

And to think some people didn't want to have to pay to go on the ferry to the IOW.

So the date is set 4/5/6 June 04.

Fellow Ribsters,

Following on from previous discussions.

The date for the next Ribnet Cruise is set Friday 4th Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th of June 2004.

From the response I have had and the general view is to link this cruise into Ribex Exhibition at the same time.

I have approached one hotel who is willing to accommodate up to 40 of us with Bed and Full English Breakfast in addition provide the following options:-

1. Saturady Night 3 Course Meal from a menu = £15.00 Per Head.
2. Sunday Lunch 2 Course Meal Set Menu = £10.00

I am still negotiating the costs of rooms but looking at Double/Twin Bed Room £60 per night Single Room £50 Per night.

I have agreed 2 week grace period before confirmation.

I think this is a reasonable Deal?

There are not many hotels in cowes that can accomodate us all together. I understand it is also right on the RIBEX Marina Site. Berthing fees will be extra at the moment, working on that idea.

How do you all feel about this option?

Answers on a pm please or through this thread.

JK Can you Please set up a Ribex Cruise Thread 04 if it will be helpfull.

Daniel give me a call soon please.

Count me in, will require a family room if possible, (2 boys 7+9).

Also will need to arrange secure parking on mainland for the car & trailer as taking boat across to Cowes.

Boat Launch & Parking

Hi All,

Thank's to those of you who have already sent details. The list is now growing.

Following a request from Gingercoastie, regarding where to launch and parking of trailers ect. I am going to leave that up to individuals to sort out there own launch site, I am not passing the buck but I would not to be responsable if someone's Car/Trailer was to get nicked.

First here is a link to Boat Launch Web site: www.boatlaunch.co.uk

However, Richard B has offered to talk to the Guys in Southampton to see if they can help out.

Watch this space.

Regards

P.s Julian I did get out on Saturday, Left Littlehampton by 9:30ish got 12 miles out heading for I.o.W. Just got near Selsey Bill When we just put the boat into wind to see what the conditions were like for comming home later. Due to time slot for getting boat out of the water later decided we could not do round trip in time. Sorry to have missed you. There will be more chances through the winter I'm sure.
