Um !!

Cowes Yacht Haven won't take single bookings, and refer you to the Ribex Organisers.

Ribex has block booked the north side and when you ring them its berths may be available on a first come first served basis on the day until its unsafe to take more.

So possibly you travel by boat, arrive and find no suitable space available then have to scour the rest of the area to find alternative berthing.

An interesting way to attract visitors by boat ?

In that case, and allowing for my better half's indecision, I may attend by car and ferry, and save the Rib for the South West Cruise a week later.

Kevin,
Can you give us the St. James Authorised Version, definative on the boat parking at Cowes, please?
Is there a problem potentially?
Or is it that Stacey scare-mongering again?
You let me know if he is. I'll get him back for you!

If any of you guys are are coming all this way with your boats either by sea or boat then the least we can do is look after you?

You can leave your cars trailers at our place in Saxon and you can moor your bots on the pontoons for about 12 per night payable to MDL. If anybodies is interested let me know

Berthing Arrangements

Hi Guy's & Doll's,

Following a couple of phone calls today I can now give you all the "DEFINATIVE" Berthing Arrangements for the Ribnet/Ribex Weekend.

1. Ribex is holding its event in the North Basin and are only taking bookings for EXHIBITORS ONLY.

There will be some visitor berthing available for those boats visiting Ribex on a daily basis within the North Basin, on a first come first served basis.

2. All berthing required for the Ribnet weekend can be made by contacting Mr Colin Hugill, Cowes Yatch Haven Marina on 01983 - 299975.

He has been briefed on the situation and "WILL" accept bookings for this weekend.

The berths available will be within the Yatch Haven complex and a very short walk to the Hotel Accommodation but NOT the "North Basin".

May I appoligise for any confusion on this matter and the delay.

On a personal note, may I thank all of you who have already signed up for this weekend. It is deffinately looking good, to be the biggest event we have had yet, numbers are still rising. Please keep your application forms comming.

Due to a change in my personall circumstances and with immediate effect can all forms be addressed to me at:-

26 Stamshaw Road
Portsmouth
PO2 8LR

All other details stay the same.

JK can you please edit the application form for me ASAP.

Regards
Kevin

Kevin
Things have seemed to have arrived at an impasse in respect of trying to book berthings at Cowes.
Colin Hugill there will only accept block bookings by organisations and we cannot book directly because we are individuals.
We are stuffed.
Is it possible that we could give our berthing requirements to you, and then you block book as "RibNet" ?

Brian are you ceritan they will accept a block booking from an organisation?

Kevin and i are meeting-up on Saturday to discuss a few things, but i would suggest either him or i will undertake this but we'll be looking to collect deposits ASAP from people so we are not out of pocket if, for whatever reason, people need to pull out - worst case Cowes may want payment in full upfront.

Berthing at Cowes

I hope this helps.
Souter Marine by the Hammerhead Crane next to the chain ferry
have a large pontoon which takes up to about 20 boats rafted up.
I use them for Round the Island and Cowes Week.
They have basic showers etc. but it is a secure site and the Police Launch also berths there.
It's about a 10 min walk to the Promenade/Castle area

On the big event weeks they charge £25/night but it may be less at other times.

Berthing Arrangements

I have also had difficulties trying to book a berth via Mr Hugill. He said he needs to speak to his general manager but they usually only take group bookings of 6 or more boats.

Would be happy to pay up front to secure a berth for the weekend.

Hi

I will also need a berth for my boat. I can pay up front if someone will plan the block booking.

Is there a general plan of getting there ?

I was thinking of launching somewhere around the South Hampton area (Is this stupid?) and then sail to the Isle of Wight.

By doing this I don't have my car and trailer on the island, and will need some kind of berth.

I will also need somewhere to park my car, what are you planning ?

Regards
Rene

Kevin and i don't really want to get involved with parking arrangments - incase something gets stolen and all that, but PM me for some suggestions.

I'm happy to arrange a block booking, but hold fire till Kevin and I have had a get-together this weekend.

See you all in Cowes

We (Icom) will be there at the show.
Being new here it would be nice to meet you all (maybe share a shandy or two!) and put face's to names, please come up and say "hi".

On the stand will be myself and my able asst Phil (love of the british navy!)
If I am not on the stand I will be found either networking in the bar or be the one out on the Humber 6.2 Ocean Pro with the huge grin!!

It may well also be a good chance to chat though any querries you might have with our kit.

Best regards

Might it also be the "right time" to buy a DSC-100 unit?

Have not found that any of my dealers will there.

Although as the dates get closer this may well change.

Best regards
