Visitors Parking
If any body is interested . We can look after a few of you re parking and mooring at Saxon Wharf in Southampton. A few people have already asked to stay over the Ribex weekend and that is the limit of our Pro Bono effort.
However it's a big secure commercial marina and we have showers an office and a secure container for storage. The mooring fee for Saxon wharf is £12 a night and I am happy to talk to the manager re car/trailer parking or reduced rate, If there is an interset I'll ask
Also you crazy guys could consider reserving berths at the Folly then finding the river taxi back to the Ribex

"BERTHING ARRANGEMENTS SORTED"
Hi Guy's & Doll's,
Well after a brilliant day out on the water on Saturday OOPS! wrong thread.
I have resolved the problem with berthing arrangements for all those people attending by boat, here goes.
I have booked 20 berths within the Cowes Yatch Haven complex for the weekend (Friday to Sunday) under the banner of Ribnet.
I have been charged £50.00 for securing the space, I intend to recover this sum from all skippers by dividing the cost between the number of boats that TURN UP.
Each skipper will be liable for his own berthing fees and will pay the marina staff upon arrival in cowes.
The tarrif is as follows for Friday/Saturday Night cost = £2.65p Per Metre.
For those boats staying over on Sunday Night cost = £2.00p Per Metre.
These spaces are going very quickly (only 9 left). Please let me know if you are coming by boat and need a berth as soon as possible once the 20 are filled I will try and book more space for us.
For all those skippers who have already sent me their application form your berth is guaranteed.
I hope this note is self explanatry but if you need any help just give me a call on my mobile 07761 864043.
Cheers
Kevin.

Just to make sure Kevin......................
Magellan Alpha
Awesome Explorer and
Cyanide
will arrive Friday lunchtime and moor till Sunday morning (then off to Alderney if anyone is interested).
Hope we are OK for a berth.
And, I understand Martin Stacey in "Bob" will arrive Thursday night, for three nights.
Thank you for your Herculean efforts in this matter.
Gotta be worth a beer!

Berthin Arrangements' UPDATE
Hi Brian,
For you information and all the other Skippers your berths have been booked, I recieved confirmation by post this morning.
Just to make sure everyone understands, "The £50.00 that has been paid by myself, will be paid by all skippers who turn up for the weekend".
Your own mooring fees will still have to be paid direct to the mairna staff on arrival.
There are still spaces left. So come on Guy's & Doll's sort out your diaries and send those forms in.
Mr Hart i have not had your's back yet!
Regards

Love the idea of NWales/Abersoch in 2005
if it took place late Sept. could link with the start of The Clipper Round the World Race from L'pool as they head across the Irish Sea, although last time they were due to leave L'pool in 2003 it was postponed due to storm force winds
Sorry can't make this year, have yet to sample the solent.

Hi Deetox
Love the idea of NWales/Abersoch in 2005.
I will gladly let you volunteer to organise next years event if you are up for it? It would be good to meet up with some of those welshmen + northerner's
Cheers

2005?
Ooh err!
That sounds like a quick handover, but maybe NW Ribsters can come up trumps? Lets hear it from the boys (and girls of course).
Jono help! Is it a possibility or have I opened mouth before engaging brain?

2nd Inaugural RIBnet Conference is FULL
Hi Guy's & Doll's
I am very sorry but this weekend is now FULL.
This is due to a major Rag & Stick event taking place at the same time as the Ribex event.
I have been informed by Mr Andy McCulloch Fountain Hotel Manager, that all hotels in Cowes are now fully booked.
I have had a ring round myself and I cannot locate anymore accomodation that is available in Cowes, which is reasonably priced.
Richard & Louise, Allan & Laura I am very sorry but I cannot find any rooms to fit you in. Left it a little too late.
I will arrange the return of your deposit ASAP. If you would like to try yourself's please free to do so. I would not want you to miss out.
If anyone still wishes to join us for this weekend can you please make your own arrangements. There maybe a B&B locally, just means ringing around. Alternatively just turn up on the day.
I will still be able to book your berthing if required, so far I have 22 Boats booked in to attend.
Any quiries please ring me or send pm.
Regards
Kevin.

We're now sorted
If anyone's still in need of accommodation, have a look for B&Bs on Smooth Hound.

Menu for BBQ & Sunday Lunch
Hi Everyone,
I have just recieved the menu's for the Ribnet weekend. Due to the number of people attending Saturday Night will be a BBQ and Sunday Lunch will be a 2 Course Traditional Meal.
Please take a look at both menu's and unless there is some very strong objection this will form the basis of our food for the weekend. A full English Breakfast will be provided on both mornings for those of you staying in hotels.
I will need any comments by the 12th April (Easter Monday).
Regards
Kevin.
