I put this to some of the other NWR's before Xmas and it went down well with volunteers to help. Just thought the 2004 event should be out of the way before making any firm decisions. JK was ok with it as well.
If enough people are willing to make the trip from other areas there is no reason why not, and to tie in with another event, such as RTW, would add interest. Ireland is less than 50 miles away as well.
We can discuss this over Easter and the coming weeks.

Tickets
Does anybody know anything about the Red Funnel ticket/travel offer? It says on the RIBEX website that "a day return Hi-Speed ferry ticket + a 3-day entry ticket to the show is just £10", but there is no mention about the ticket being valid for all 3 days on the Red Funnel site.
The only reason I ask is that it would be cheaper to buy the ferry ticket with 3 day entry, than pay £4.50 on the door each day.

From the RIBex website: "Please note: visitors staying on the Island will be entitled to show entry on all three days of RIBEX 2004 upon purchase of a single entry ticket."
Still seems a little vague though (does this only apply to people who book accommodation through Red Funnel?).
If you find out the definitive answer, please let us all know!

We've just received an e-mail from RIB International which suggests that the £4.50 entrance ticket is valid for all three days!! Not sure what to think now!
Copy of e-mail:

Subject: RIBEX 2004
Getting to RIBEX 2004 - It's easy, it's fun & it's not expensive!
Red Funnel are offering big discounts on foot passenger tickets purchased in advance and over the show, it takes just 23 minutes and the ferry disembarks adjacent to the show site itself. The ferry ride itself adds to the thrill of a family day out and for those more serious visitors it provides a hassle free, quick and efficient
In advance: A day return Hi-Speed ferry ticket + a 3-day entry ticket to the show is just £10 (£4 for children 5-15yrs, under 5s free).
TO BOOK ONLINE FOLLOW THE LINKS ON www.ribexhibitions.co.uk/travel.htm or CALL RED FUNNEL'S TRAVEL CENTRE ON 0870 444 8898
On the day: Red Funnel are offering a 'Two for the Price of One' discounted fare if you choose to travel to the show without booking in advance. So, your return ticket will cost half price if two people travel on the 4th, 5th and 6th June (Fare = £12.70 for two people; £12.70 for one adult/one child and £19 for a family of two adults+two children). Entry tickets for the show will require to be purchased when you arrive at RIBEX 2004 and cost £4.50 per adult and free for children under 16, this ticket covers entry for all three days.)
Parking: There is ample parking for ferry travel at the West Quay car park adjacent to the ferry terminals.
