Not sure Dave, I may just go from Hythe and head up to meet you at the Needles.
Will see closer to the time.

Nice to see that you're coming along. I'm not coming from Southampton, but from Portsmouth. There are several RIBs that will be departing Southampton however.

Definately Steve I am a bit nervous about having a ride on your new beast (if I am allowed on board that is ) Redbays have always been high on my list of possible ribs and I don't want to go getting any silly ideas

This is getting bigger! Now we have:
Out of Poole:
Grimalkin - Avocet
Serenity - non-Ribnet
Gold Rush - non-Ribnet
Out of Christchurch:
Streaker - Blackroady plus another boat (name please!)
Ermintrude - 250kts
From the East (Southampton/Portsmouth):
Blue Venom - Hightower
Zonneschijn II - Neil Harvey
Dizzy Lizzy - Dizzy Lizzy
Storm Breaker - Paul Beaurain
Time Bandit - Chris
"Redbay" (name please!) - SJHooper
All we need now is the weather which can never be guaranteed - although it's looking to be cold.
Once we have final numbers on, say, Friday/Saturday I'll phone the pub and warn them (although it looks as though Blackroady will be getting the first round in !)

Biffer also, if well.
And what was wrong with today (see other thread)? I had a conversation with Trevor (OK - by voicemail). Our crossing (Poole - Yarmouth) was exhilarating but dry and two novices (aged 8 and 13) want to do it again! Good day from the West of the IoW
Would have gone Needles route on the return if just experienced Ribbers on board; but started it and, having found some rough water, judiciously chose the inland route (and missed all the lobster pots in the dark). Good day!
Have advised Yarmouth harbour that a number of boats may be wanting berths and The Wheatsheaf that some Nachos may be required on Sunday. Paraphrased: "Bring it on" were the answers.
Looking forward to it.

Slightly earlier timings
Weather looks set fair for Sunday, although like today, very cold.
Nestor and Belly Dancer have confirmed that they want to be out of Christchurch by 11.15am for there to be enough tide to get in on the return (which probably needs to be by 3.00pm). As a result, Gold Rush and I now plan to leave Poole at 11.00am (rather than 11.30am) which should enable us to meet up with and accompany the Christchurch pair. Serenity from Poole has concerns about the cold as he has three female crew (two of them young) and is now unlikely.
The above timings should get the four of us to Yarmouth for midday. Have no other definite confirmations at this stage but will be on CH72 and monitoring CH16 and hope to see as many of you as possible in The Wheatsheaf from midday.
Remember to wrap up warm.

As it would seem that I'm the furthest boat coming from the East (Portsmouth), what time are the Southampton lot meeting and where? It'll be good to meet up with some of you half way though my trip.

Yeh, that's OK or I could straighline so anywhere West of Bramble bank would be better for me.
Just need a time?

Southampton crowd
Hi Hightower et all
Trevor (Dizzy lizzy) and us (Storm Breaker) are aiming to meet at 11.15 off Calshot Spit.
By being on the early side we hope will give sufficent time later in the day for everyone to get back and out before it is really dark.
Trevor is coming down the Hamble and may launch early enough to stop for hot drinks at Hample point marina.
We are coming out of Itchen and will be away from Drivers/Dry stack at approx 10.40 going straight to rendevous point.
See you tomorrow.
PS Its Kathryn's birthday - so it needs to be a special day for her...
