4th Annual N.W. Ribsters Christmas Cruise......

.........all welcome. Starting point Pwllheli.

It's about that time of year again when when me & Graeme give thought to the NW Ribsters Annual Christmas Cruise, Graemes in Russia (Special Mission) so i thought i would post the thread.

Feel free to bring along the Baileys Coffee and Hot Sausages in tin foil.

The date to be is Saturday 30th December.

A few of us will be clay shooting on the 29th and off roading on the 30th (see www.simply4x4.co.uk).

Jono

So, who's coming...........

............?

Many of you will have already enjoyed much that the Llyn Peninsular has to offer if you joined the 2006 Rib Raid which, was so superbly organised by Jono. For those who didn't, know's your chance.

As a taster, take a look back in time to July 2nd

http://www.rib.net/forum/showthread.php?t=13223

For those who did, don't fear, there's a whole lot more that you didn't get to experience.

If I may.............

As always, we'll attempt a 10:00 start (usually 11:00) from Jonos place next to the Harbour Masters office in Pwllheli. There's ample parking, security, a place to change, make a hot cuppa and freshen up after your haul up the A55.

In recent years we've had as many as 13 and as few as 6 ribs, however, there's always plenty of room if you just want to tag along for the ride, you don't necessarily have to have your RIB - but of course - it helps ! As previous, hard shells and PWC are welcome to join in the fun.

Weather dependent, Saturday will find us either heading West to Bardsey Island and beyond or East toward Porthmadog & Shell Island. Depending on numbers and our time of departure, we might make Barmouth or Porth Dinllean (both locations visited on the Rib Raid).

So, please registar your interest. We'll post additional information in due course. However, in the meantime, if anyone requires assistance with accommodation, directions etc, just ask or check out the above link to the Rib Raid where you'll get everything you need to know.

got it back same week !! and fixed and running 100% better than before, it had some crap in the carbs which looks like it had been there since new

although i havnt seen my rib since september as not been down due to work and building work at home ( wife has new fireplace/lounge/dinning room/cloakroom and flooors should of been a Avon 620 really but she wasnt falling for that one again !)

hopefully next year will see this one through unless you can persuade me that a 6metre humber will suit my needs better ?

have bought the tow vehicle for the boat :>)

Cheers

Andy

So - not far off now.....

....Once again, we meet at Jonos place about 10:00 and take if from there. I have two other boats joining from The Warren so I might launch from there and head down to Pwlhelli depending on the weather. As it stands at the moment, we;re in for a dry calm day if this high pressure holds. This will make for fast planing speeds especially if the wind stays as it's forecast. Therefore, we should get some decent disctance under our belts with relatively good fuel consumption.

It's going to be chilly so wrap up warm and bring plenty of grub although, as usual I'll have enough for all.

Cameras are a must as I've been advised this is the time of year that whales migrate across the bay heading for colder waters toward Greenland. You never know our luck.

For those of you taking part in the Southern Cruise - Fair Winds and Smooth Seas.............
